Introduction

After years in hospitality and customer service, I reached a point where I knew I wasn’t getting to show my full potential. I’d built a career across Norway, Malta, Greece and Amsterdam, learnt how to handle pressure, read people quickly and solve problems on the spot, but something was missing. So I took the risk I’d been putting off for too long. I went back to school, reeducated myself and stepped into the advertising industry. It was a big shift, but it finally gave me the space to work more strategically and use everything I’d learnt about people in a new way.

After going back to school, I’ve learnt a lot about myself. I’ve realised that I work best when I can think ahead, ask the right questions and shape a clear direction. I’ve also learnt that I enjoy the balance between structure and creativity that advertising gives me. It’s shown me that I’m good at breaking down problems, understanding people and turning insight into something practical.

Before starting my BA in Advertising at USW, I studied digital marketing at Noroff and earned my diploma. That was the first time I understood how much I enjoyed strategy, audience insight and the thinking behind why things work. At USW, I’ve built on that foundation and developed a strong set of technical skills. I’ve learnt how to build strategies, write briefs, develop insights, create tone of voice, plan media and structure campaigns from start to finish. I’ve also worked with audience research, brand positioning, creative concepting and presenting work in a clear and professional way.

Collaborated with Spindogs on the development of a story-driven tourism campaign for Visit Cardiff, positioning the city as the gateway to Wales’ Ghibli-inspired landscapes to attract new international audiences.
